"Would you like to learn the tactical gear? That was the next thing I was going to ask you."

And that gets a bit more interest.

"Yeah. That would be alright."

His tone is more eager than his words might imply.

"Well, well! Good."

Satisfaction.

"How's your baseline physical strength? It requires great all-over condition to use the gear effectively. And can you ride? A horse is ideal for combat on the tactical gear, because when you leave it, properly bonded, it will keep on going your way as you move."

"Strong enough. I've been here long enough to get back anything that atrophied in space. And I know how to ride a horse...in theory."

How hard can it be, honestly?

But he is, if possible, even more intrigued by this.

"Well, we can do further conditioning if you need it, and riding lessons can take place alongside at least the preliminary parts of tactical gear training. Scout horses are the best in all words, lucky for you."

Scouts have close bonds with their horses and Hange is no exception.

He gives her a quick look, as if realizing something.

"And how often are you thinking that we're going to be doing this?"

"Weeelll... how slow do you want to be getting to the really fun stuff?"

She makes a good point. He hates that she makes a good point. But he can't argue with a good point.

So he sighs.

"Alright, alright. You got me there."

"Every day! Is that an agreement to every day I hear?"

He sighs. Sighs like his entire soul is leaving his body.

"Yeah. I guess."

[14thcommander]

"Yes!"

This is the kind of reaction it's fun to pour overenthusiasm all over.

Kepler does roughly the same thing in his own way, so Jacobi really isn't surprised or upset by it.

"What about today? Are we done for today?"

[14thcommander]

"Do you wanna go ride a horse right now?"

[mrballisticsdummy]

"I think the question you're really asking is - do I want to go make an ass out of myself right now?" He considers.

The theory of horse riding is so much different than the practical and he knows it.

"But - alright."

"Lucky for you, our horses could carry a flailing sack of human potatoes into battle."

Hange says this smugly. It'll be eeeeeeeeasy, Jacobi!

Yeah, yeah. He'll see about that....

Hange hit it off right away with Betelgeuse. She knew Bill for a long time before becoming his warden. Jacobi might not become a permanent pairing, but at least they can make the most of their time temped.
